After winning the first prize in the competition organised by the Architects’ Association in 1994. Work began in 1995. The aim was to provide the Spanish association with a building to house the administration, restaurant, bar and meeting room. The existing building, built at the end of the 20th century, had undergone many changes as it had been used by many different institutions. Therefore, we tried to recover the forms of the original building, respecting as much as possible what we considered to be of historical value for the institution and the city, as well as respecting the multifunctional programme proposed in the competition, which was achieved through a Spanish colonial courtyard that articulates and organises all the activities.
